IMPROV FOR WELLNESS AND BETTER INTERACTION SKILLS

Teambuilding: Collaboration, Communication  PLUS  Work Stress Resolutions

Program Description: Through a series of fun, interactive activities based on improvisational theatre methods and the tenets of Neal King’s Book, Group Therapy for Social Anxiety (Group Cohesiveness, Play, Exposure, Humor), participants explore skills such as listening, collaboration, releasing pre-conceived agendas, adapting to change, committing to choices with confidence, multi-tasking, and creative thinking. Spontaneity and laughter allow a natural bridge for deeper understanding of peers.  No improv experience is needed, no one is singled out – everything is group-based and supportive.  Comfort levels are naturally stretched not forced.  Participants will be able to discuss how each improv lesson can apply to their job and personal life.  Following the Improv Program, Neal King will facilitate stress management and problem solving specific to concerns raised by the group.  Reaction management via cognitive behavior therapy and mindfulness methods will be addressed.

The program can be tailored from 2 – 4 hours.

The Program is designed for up to 40 employees. This is NOT an Improv show.  All members participate and observe.

“Thanks Neal for an outstanding workshop on using improv to improve communication and interpersonal skills. Staff was able to identify the importance of reading ques from others, checking their own body lanuage, being in the moment, and feeling aware of the needs of others.” Nancy Thompson, Executive Director, Child Care Connections
